980 arrested in Coimbatore for violating lockdown

Coimbatore: In the action taken by the District Police, amongst people who violated lockdown restrictions in Coimbatore, 680 cases were registered and 980 persons were arrested. 43 motorcycles have been seized by the police.

In the city, 144 cases were registered and 147 were arrested. Similarly, 494 cases have been registered in the suburbs of the Coimbatore district and 833 persons have been arrested. 330 motorcycles, 1 car and 1 minivan were seized.

In total, 638 cases have been registered and 980 persons have been arrested. 373 motorcycles, 1 car, and 1 minivan were seized.
