Coimbatore: The Government of Tamil Nadu has announced that the Corona Relief Amount and Relief Items will be issued from the 1st of April. In Coimbatore, the district administration has announced that relief funds and items will be issued from Thursday, the 2rd April.
The AIADMK government will issued a token to the beneficiaries of the ration card at the Rathinapuri Municipal School in Coimbatore today.

Thousands of civilians gathered in front of the school today at the Rathinapuri school. The lack of police led to people defying the social distancing norms. In this situation, there was a hectic situation in the area as the public was overtaken by fears of not receiving token and hence gathered in huge crowds early in the morning.

This was subsequently brought to the attention of the higher authorities. Officials have advised that 100 tokens will be issued every day and that all the beneficiaries of the ration card will get relief funds and supplies and requested them to avoid overcrowding.
As the public is constantly being advised of the social distancing, it is shocking that the public is still unaware of the social distancing and crowded in order to seek relief. The negligence of the authorities to monitor these is also disappointing. The public has also urged the authorities to continue to take action to make people follow social distancing.
