In this state, two mosques at Ukkadam, under the Ukkadam Police jurisdiction, held prayers on last Friday. This is a clear violation of the lockdown norms. On receiving information regarding this, the Ukkadam Police filed cases against the Imams and the secretaries of the mosques.
Cases have been filed against the Imam and the secretary of the Big Mosque, under four sections, for conducting prayers in the afternoon. An additional case was filed for conducting prayers in the evening.
The Small Mosque, within the Ukkadam Police jurisdiction also came under scrutiny and a case has been filed under four sections, against the Imam and the secretary of the mosque.
