The District Administration had arranged for vegetables and essential commodities to be sold at the bus stand, Shanthi Vijaya grounds and the ATC grounds, to make it more convenient for the people to buy essentials. However, only one place near the Connoor bus stand has been allotted for the sale of essentials in Connoor. As a result of this, hundreds of people throng this area, causing the social distancing norms to be violated.

In the midst of this, executives of political parties visit these locations under the pretext of supervising the measures being undertaken. They bring around a crowd of people too. Police have been unable to control these visits as well.

This has caused concerned citizens to wonder if this would facilitate the spread of COVID-19. Many vehicle owners have however, volunteered to supply essential commodities, door to door. They further requested that if the district administration could encourage and permit these volunteers to go around door to door, to various villages, to supply essentials to the people, it would be helpful to maintain the norms, for the prevention of COVID-19.
