Chennai: The Secretary of the TN Health Department Beela Rajesh discussed the Containment plan that will be executed from tomorrow, in 10 districts. She spoke to the press and detailed the concept of a containment plan.
Chennai: The Secretary of the TN Health Department Beela Rajesh discussed the Containment plan that will be executed from tomorrow, in 10 districts. She spoke to the press and detailed the concept of a containment plan.
According to the briefing, "The Health Department has planned to execute a containment plan tomorrow. The plan will be discussed today over video conferencing with the 10 District Collectors and the Deputy Directors, Joint Directors and the Deans, from all the districts. The guidelines have already been passed to the respective District Collectors, through the Chief Secretary.
The areas where the positive cases were reported will be notified as the containment zone, from morning till evening.
The Containment Zone is the 5km radius area around the location of the positive case, that was reported. A buffer zone of 3 kms will also be included, demarcating the entire 7 km area around the reported case, the containment zone.
For each 50 houses, there will be one designated worker, a VHN or Anganwadi worker. Teams with four such workers will be assigned a supervisor or a doctor at the ratio of 1:4. These workers will verify with each of the 50 houses, if any of the members suffer from cold, cough or difficulty in breathing.
The motive is to verify, if any of the other people in the location suffer from symptoms of COVID-19, to understand if there has been any community transmission. If any transmission is reported, the verification process will help with containing the spread of the disease, further."
This containment zone has been marked in KK Pudur in Coimbatore and this plan will be executed until tomorrow.
