Coimbatore: The Health officials are planning to hold door-to-door inspections at KK Pudur after the Spain return woman from Coimbatore was tested positive for COVID-19.
The Containment Zone is the 5km radius area around the location of the positive case, that was reported. A buffer zone of 3 kms will also be included, demarcating the entire 7 km area around the reported case, the containment zone. This is going to done in 10 districts in Tamilnadu.
Teams involving 200 health workers will inspect all homes within 5 km radius of the woman who was tested positive from KK Pudur in Saibaba Colony.
A demarcated five km radius around the houses of confirmed COVID-19 patient who returned from Spain will be isolated. Hence, KK Pudur has been announced as a containment zone and will be thoroughly disinfected. As a part of the containment plan, people who have travel history or those who have come in contact with the person who was tested positive for COVID-19 in the specified areas have to self declare to the officials.
Those living within the 5 km demarcated area will not be allowed to travel outside. Clear instructions, do's and dont's will be notified to the residents, a health official informed.
Within 1 km radius, there are 12,450 houses with 49,800 residents; 2 km - 13,684 houses with 54,736 residents, 3 km - 14,134 houses with 56,536 residents, 4 km - 11,988 houses with 47,952 residents and the 5th km stretch with 13,856 houses and 55,424 residents. Hence, a total of 66,112 homes and 2,64,448 residents will be inspected, today.
It has been reported that the health department will be actively conducting inspections at these houses.
