Coimbatore: A 24-hour dedicated control room on behalf of the Police Department is set-up to help displaced people and the isolated, and to resolve various doubts about coronavirus.
With the coronavirus spreading fast, the Tamil Nadu government is taking various precautions. Similarly, on behalf of the Coimbatore Police, the public are being made aware of social distancing.
As a continuation of this, the "mini control room" has now been opened at the Commissioner's office premises to help the people of Coimbatore. The control room is headed by Assistant Commissioner Krishnamurthy under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Balaji Saravanan on the orders of Police Commissioner Sumit Saran.
The control room consists of 11 personnel, including inspector Veerammal, a sub-inspector and 8 guards. Similarly, this control room works in conjunction with the control room in the District Collector's office. You can also contact the Control Room on 0422-2305758. The control room is open 24 hours a day.
Police are reportedly in the process of providing various assistance and resolving any doubts through the helpline. Steps are also being taken to provide police with special safety gear for safeguarding against corona infections.
