Tirupur: Union Minister of State, Udumalai Radhakrishnan today inspected the precautionary measures taken at the Tirupur District Government hospital to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Speaking to reporters later, he said the coronavirus virus preventive measures were being used in Tirupur effectively.

The Tirupur GH is ready for treatment with 15 beds at the district headquarters. There is a total of 86 ventilators in the District with 7 ventilators in the Government hospital and 79 ventilators in the private hospitals in the district.
He said that corona wards would be created in all the taluks of the district, including Avinashi and Udumalai. He said that six people in Tirupur were checked for corona and only one person who had returned from London tested positive and he was being treated at the Coimbatore ESI. The inspection was attended by district collectors, legislators, health officials and government doctors.
