The Government of Tamilnadu has announced a strict curfew in the state. It has been reported that the Uzhavar Sandhai markets will run only from 4.30 am to 9 am. It was also advised not to set up markets in narrow areas.
Based on this Town Hall Vegetable Market and Ukkadam Vegetable Market were now setup up at the Ukkadam bus Terminus. Markings have been made at 1 metre distance to avoid overcrowding. A wave of people rushed to buy vegetables at Ukkadam bus Terminus since morning.
Similarly, the Anna Vegetable Market at Anna Market has been shifted to Mettupalayam Bus Terminus and the public are getting vegetables from there.
These measures have been implemented to ensure the usually crowded markets can now be opened up for public by enforcing social distancing.
