Coimbatore: Due to COVID-19 crisis, several states including Tamil Nadu and parts of Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Goa, Chhattisgarh, Bihar and Assam have imposed ban on online food delivery services, amid the 21-day lockdown in the country.

Until March 27, in Tamil Nadu the restrictions were imposed only on cooked food, while groceries and e-commerce services are allowed.
The Tamil Nadu State Chief Minister Edapadi K Palanisamy has tweeted of relaxing the ban on online delivery partners like Swiggy, Zomato and Uber eats. These services will become available from Sunday.
The CM has tweeted that as many people cannot cook at their homes and for people staying at hostels and mansions, online food delivery is very crucial. Keeping in mind their requirements, the government has decided to ease the restrictions imposed.
Online food delivery will be available between 7AM to 9:30 AM for breakfast, 12 PM to 2:30 PM for lunch and 6 PM to 9 PM for dinner.
The CM has stressed that the delivery persons should carry their company ID cards and the company should take up the responsibility of ensuring if their employees are in good health.
