While complaints are on the rise, that medical stores are selling face masks at hiked prices, the district administration has issued stern warning to abstain from selling at hiked prices. Many women SHGs have started manufacturing cloth masks and sanitisers and selling them at a reasonable price of ₹10 per piece.

In one such initiative, the prison inmates in Coimbatore have been engaged in manufacturing three layer masks using autoclave process.
In a statement, the chief warden of prison has invited bulk orders from institutions. The three-layered masks are sold at a price of Rs. 10 per piece.
