Under the orders of the Coimbatore City Police Commissioner, cases have been filed on 48 people and 60 people have been arrested on Mar 26. People playing cricket, people loitering in the streets without any reason and people roaming around in two wheelers have been punished. The police have warned that severe action will be taken on people violating the curfew.
68 cases have been filed and 87 people have been arrested in Coimbatore District overall. In the sub-urbs, 122 cases have been filed and 148 people have been arrested. A total of 187 cases have been filed and 235 people have been arrested in the region.
