Coimbatore: Private company employees today appealed to the District Collector to permit them to go home. They work in State Street, an investment based company by HCL operated in Saravanampatti, Coimbatore.
Prime Minister Modi ordered the implementation of a 144 ban in all states as a precautionary measure against corona. In this scenario, the employees of State Street, a private company operating in the Saravanampatti area said that employees can work from home. It is said that apart from employees living in a rented house, those who stayed in the hostel would be provided with a laptop. With 144 ban imposed at 6 pm, the laptops were provided only by 9 pm.
With the lockdown announced later by PM Modi after the section 144 was imposed by the CM, those who are from out-stations feel they might be stranded without availability of basic services and have requested the Collector that they be allowed permission to reach the district border so that they can leave to their homes for safety.
But District Collector has said that pandemic of corona is a national emergency and with 144 in place, it is not possible to allow them permission and hence asked them to stay at their current place for their safety and assured that basic services will not be disrupted.
