Cases filed against 83 people in Tirupur for violating the lockdown

Tirupur: Cases have been filed against 83 people for violating section 144, in Tirupur. 41 new checkposts have been setup by the Police department, to monitor the movement of people.

The second day of lockdown under section 144 is being observed today, all over the country. In Tirupur, a total of 41 new checkposts have been set up, 10 in the city and 31 places in the suburbs. The officials are monitoring the people and keeping a close watch on any unnecessary movement by the public. 

In Tirupur district alone, cases have been filed against 83 people yesterday for violating the lockdown. 26 two wheelers and five cars have been confiscated in the process. 



Police have asked the owners to retrieve their vehicles on April 17, after the lockdown comes to a close.
