The lockdown will come into effect from midnight today. The PM further stressed the importance of social distancing and requested fellow citizens of the country to ensure we stay indoors and practice social distancing to avoid the spread of Coronavirus.
"The nation is going to take a very important decision. Starting midnight, the whole country will be under complete lockdown to save the country from Coronavirus pandemic. There is a nation-wide lockdown till April 15", the PM told on Tuesday night
Addressing the nation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi appealed to the people to stay at home and warned people against the hazard of stepping out of the house amid coronavirus pandemic.
The lockdown will continue for 21 days starting midnight tonight, he told.
₹15,000 crores has been allocated for improving and providing testing facilities, training doctors, PPEs, ICUs, and ventilators.
