Coimbatore: In a recent advisory, State Health Minister Dr. C. Vijayabaskar has appealed to the people to maintain social distancing.
"You could be asymptomatic carriers of the virus, hence stay indoors and maintain social distancing", urged State Health Minister.
He released the below-mentioned advisory against the spread of the pandemic:
- Prevention of COVID-19 has become a challenging task for countries, all over the world. The proven best protection against the disease is washing hands, thoroughly and frequently.
- COVID-19 is a pandemic. The only way to combat the infection that this point is through social distancing.
- Those who have arrived from abroad, or if we have been in contact with such a person, then we should not hesitate to isolate ourselves.
- Ideally when we isolate ourselves for 14 days, we can stop the spread of the virus. If anyone you know, who has arrived from abroad, does not isolate themselves, or if they wander outside, report to the nearest Police station.
- You could be infected by Coronavirus, without exhibiting any symptoms. It is therefore sensible to keep away from gathering in crowds.
- Avoid unnecessary travel.
- Be cautious of children and senior citizens above the age of 60.
- Extra care must be provided to patients who are diabetic and suffering from long term illnesses.
- Eat healthy and stay hydrated.
