The Nilgiris: Inspite of the District Administration's warning, not to permit any guests from out of State or out of District, two lodges in Gudalur in the Nilgiris, that had accommodated out of State guests, were sealed today.
The Nilgiris: Inspite of the District Administration's warning, not to permit any guests from out of State or out of District, two lodges in Gudalur in the Nilgiris, that had accommodated out of State guests, were sealed today.
Due to the spread of Coronavirus, Gudalur and Pandalur taluk close to TN border of Kerala and Karnataka remain closed. All the checkposts in the areas have been closed and outstation vehicles had been banned, from arriving into the State. Similarly, hotels and lodges in the area had been warned against permitting outsiders, as guests.
Gudalur RTO, Rajkumar and Commissioner Bhaskar, Revenue Department officials and the police department inspected more than 10 lodges and hotels, to check if tourists were evacuated.
During inspection, it was found that a lodge near the Gudalur old bus stand, had accommodated guests from other cities and State. Following this, the guests were made to vacate the lodge immediately and the lodges were sealed.
The officials warned that, until the preventive measures for controlling the spread of COVID-19 are eased, hotels and lodges must not permit out of station guests. They also alerted that inspections would be conducted on a regular basis.
