Coimbatore: A section of autos drivers in the city who operate under the banner 'Sudandhira Meter' resorted to traditional ways to combat the COVID-19 pandemic that has so far claimed four lives in India and over 6000 across the globe.
Coimbatore: A section of autos drivers in the city who operate under the banner 'Sudandhira Meter' resorted to traditional ways to combat the COVID-19 pandemic that has so far claimed four lives in India and over 6000 across the globe.
As a precautionary measure to fight the spread of Coronavirus, the members of this association prepared a concoction of turmeric, sea salt and neem leaves mixed with water, which they later sprinkled on the roads and places where public gather in large numbers.

"Over 800 litres of this antiviral concoction was prepared and taken around the city in four cans of 200 litres each. The concoction was then sprinkled at various places, in the city, where people usually gather in large numbers, including the Gandhipuram bus stand, District Collectorate, Government Hospital and other places."
They also thanked the Wholesale Traders Association of Coimbatore for providing them turmeric and rock salt, worth Rs.8,000, for free.
They died that they would continue to do so until the severity of the virus subsides.
