Coimbatore: In a screening conducted at Coimbatore railway station on Saturday morning, 10 passengers who arrived from Maharashtra in Bangalore - Ernakulam express, showed symptoms for COVID-19. They were immediately sent to the Coimbatore Government Hospital in an ambulance, for testing.
Coimbatore: In a screening conducted at Coimbatore railway station on Saturday morning, 10 passengers who arrived from Maharashtra in Bangalore - Ernakulam express, showed symptoms for COVID-19. They were immediately sent to the Coimbatore Government Hospital in an ambulance, for testing.
Screening of passengers at the railway station and other public places, with large gatherings, has been carried out meticulously, to avoid the spread of the virus. On an average, around 15,000 to 20,000 people arrive everyday, at the Coimbatore railway station, in approximately 70 trains. On holidays and weekends the number goes up to even 25,000.
As ten passengers of Bangalore-Ernaculam express showed signs of fever, the health officials sent them to GH for further examination and COVID 19 testing.
Tense moments prevailed as these ten passengers with fever and cough were from Maharastra, the State which has reported 63 positive cases.
