With this, the total number of coronavirus cases reported in the State has gone up to 40, including the three patients discharged from hospitals earlier.
CM Pinarayi Vijayan told reporters that a person, who came from Dubai and tested positive for the virus on Tuesday, had become a major source of the spread of disease there. Four of the six cases reported in the district on Friday are his relatives, including two women and a two-year-old girl
COVID 19 has been confirmed for 12 people in Kerala overnight. 6 people from Kasaragod, 5 from Ernakulam and one from Palakkad have been diagnosed positive. Since then, the number of cases of COVID 19 in Kerala has increased to 40.
Currently, 37 people are receiving treatment in hospitals. There are 44,390 people under monitoring across the State.
Of these, 44,165 are in homes and 225 in hospitals. 56 people were hospitalized on Friday. A total of 13,632 people have been brought into the observation ring. As many as 5570 people have been tested negative for the disease and have been excluded from surveillance. So far 3456 people have been sent for saliva testing and 2393 have been tested negative.
All worship centres will be closed for two weeks. The stores are only open from 11 am to 5 pm for two weeks. All the clubs in this district will be closed. Two MLAs from Kasargod are also under surveillance. An extraordinary situation in Kasargod has resulted in the cancellation of examinations across the state. Strict restrictions are imposed so that everyone is not infected.
Strict actions will be taken on people disobeying. Tax due dates for property tax, the business licence is extended up to April 30. Revenue acquisitions have also been extended to 30 April. 22 private medical college hostels have agreed to set up 4,400 rooms as corona health centres. Steps have been taken to stock face shield, glove, disinfectant and oxygen cylinders.
CM said that Kerala will support the Janata curfew to be brought across the country on March 22 and said state buses, metro trains will not be operated on that day. He requested everyone to clean their homes that day.
