Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore undertook an initiative to prepare hand sanitizers with the support of their Chemistry Department Faculties, utilizing the procedures prescribed by WHO.
Dr. A. Chandramohan, HoD of Chemistry, Dr. G. Raja, Dr. A. Murugesh and Dr. M. Saravanabhavan, faculty members of the Department of Chemistry undertook the preparation of hand sanitizers.
Officials of the College speaking about this to SimpliCity, "the faculty were overjoyed to support the society at the time of need. But the sudden increase in the price of alcohol from to around ₹3,000 per liter is making it difficult to run this community effort. If the administration can provide us raw materials at nominal cost, then we can make the hand sanitizers free of cost."
Swami Garishthananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya, Swami Nirmaleshananda, Secretary and Dr. R. Thangavel, Principal of the College, appreciated the team work and the effort taken by the faculty members.
