Please create a special corridor in the 4-lane for Palani Pilgrimage devotees - MP Shanmugasundaram

Coimbatore: Thousands of devotees walk to the Palani Murugan Temple every year during various festivals through the year. Devotees walk from many parts of the Kongu region on foot to the Palani Murugan Temple. With the recent 4-lane expansion of the Coimbatore-Pollachi road and the new 4-lane Road approval for the Pollachi-Udumalai-Madathukulam road, the typical lane traffic is now been enhanced for high speed traffic.

Devotees walk from many parts of the Kongu region on foot to the Palani Murugan Temple. With the recent 4-lane expansion of the Coimbatore-Pollachi road and the new 4-lane Road approval for the Pollachi-Udumalai-Madathukulam road, the typical lane traffic is now been enhanced for high speed traffic.

For the safety of the pilgrims and to avoid traffic congestion, Pollachi MP, Shanmughasundaram has petitioned Highways and Transport Minister Nithin Gadkari to construct a corridor along the four-lane road from Pollachi to Palani.

After submitting the petition, he said, that “A new four-lane road is to be constructed from Pollachi to Udumalai and Madathukulam towns. Lakhs of Palani Murugan pilgrims will benefit from the corridor to walk safely as they visit the iconic temple by walk at various times.

He also requested that the corridor be constructed along the four-lane road from Dindigul to Ottanchatram. Dindigul MP Veluchamy was also present while filing the petition.

This is a very valuable request that is aimed at working with the culture of the Kongu region and one that will certainly benefit lakhs of pilgrims walking to Palani every year.
