Coimbatore: A new bridge in place of the old one built during british period at Stanmore in Valparai commenced, today. The bridge is being built at a cost of Rs. 30 lakhs.
Coimbatore: A new bridge in place of the old one built during british period at Stanmore in Valparai commenced, today. The bridge is being built at a cost of Rs. 30 lakhs.

As per the request of the people to build a temporary road before demolition of the old bridge that connects Valparai and Sholaiyar dam, the State highways department built a temporary road to aid the people commute between Kurangumudi, Shekalmudi, Villoni and Rottikadai.

As people have begun to use the road, the State highways department have commenced the work to construct the proposed bridge at a cost of Rs. 30 lakhs.
"The construction of the new bridge will be completed in 40 days and will be opened for public use soon", said an official from the State Highways Department.
