Coimbatore: Special teams comprising of health officials have been formed in Valparai to sensitise the tea plantation workers about Coronavirus and the preventive measures to be taken.
The hilly terrain of Valparai wore a deserted look after orders were passed to ban tourism till March 31. Tourists already staying in cottages and home stays have been to evacuate. In this scenario, the health and municipal officials are engaged in spraying disinfectants at all public places and vehicles plying from Pollachi to Valparai.
All vehicles are subjected to thorough inspection at Attakatti Check Post.
A special team led by Dr. Babu Ganesh, on Friday inspected tea plantations and checkpoints in Valparai and intensified preventive measures.
