Tirupur District Street Vendors Workers Association staged a demonstration near Tirupur Corporation Office condemning evacuation of their shops, as a part of the Smart City project.
The demonstration was held today under the association's secretary P Balan. The members raised slogans demanding allotment of housing unit for traders with an ID card, welfare measures, interest-less bank loans, allotting ground floor shops among the 1500 shops to be built as a part of the Smart City Project in various location in Tirupur.
