Coimbatore: Blood samples of the couple who returned from Sweden and of a college student has been sent to Chennai for Coronavirus testing from Coimbatore GH, on Thursday.
The District health department has been actively monitoring 232 people who returned from overseas to Coimbatore. Out of the 232 people, 45 of them are foreigners and 187 are Indian who returned home from abroad.
The couple, who had come from Sweden to Coimbatore, were admitted to Mettupalayam Hospital with symptoms of cold fever and mild wheezing. In a bid to ensure they are free of COVID-19, they were transferred to Coimbatore GH with all precautionary measures.
Similarly, a 23-year old student who was pursuing higher studies in Bangalore returned to Coimbatore, a few days back. As she developed flu symptoms, she visited the Government Hospital in Sulur. After examining her, the doctors transferred her to Government Hospital in Coimbatore.
