Tirupur: Six people, including five college students, were killed in a road accident after a car crashed head-on with a cement truck near Avinashi on Thursday morning. Two others have been admitted to Tirupur government hospital with injuries.

Preliminary investigation revealed that seven students of Vinayaka Paramedical College in Salem were enroute to Ooty in a car. Today morning, near Avinashi their car banged on a cement lorry.
Five students -- Rajesh, Surya, Venkat, Ilavarasan and Vasanth and the car driver died on the spot. Following this, the bodies were sent to the Government Hospital for autopsy.
