Tirupur: Tirupur Corporation has been allocated a budget for Rs 1337 crore. Tirupur Corporation Commissioner Sivakumar said that the basic needs of healthcare will be given utmost importance. Assistant Commissioner Santana Narayanan filed the Budget for the year 2020-2021 of the Tirupur Corporation with the Commissioner of the Corporation Sivakumar.
Tirupur: Tirupur Corporation has been allocated a budget for Rs 1337 crore. Tirupur Corporation Commissioner Sivakumar said that the basic needs of healthcare will be given utmost importance. Assistant Commissioner Santana Narayanan filed the Budget for the year 2020-2021 of the Tirupur Corporation with the Commissioner of the Corporation Sivakumar.
Commissioner Sivakumar said that Rs 1337 crore is the expected revenue and Rs 1048 crore would be the expenditure. Commissioner Sivakumar said health services and basic needs would be given priority. Commissioner Sivakumar said the budget was planned to cover all the necessities in Tirupur.
The fourth drinking water project in the Tirupur and Smart City Works, is being funded by the government. The day-to-day maintenance and capital work are being done through public funds. Corporation employees are working efficiently to cater to public needs. He sought public co-operation for the best service and also said they are actively taking up corona preventive measures.
He said, "There are no major shopping complexes or mall in Tirupur. We are giving awareness to small shops. Cinema theatres are closed everywhere. Measures to prevent mass gatherings are being undertaken."
He also added that Medical councils are conducting health awareness campaigns throughout the city, including bus stands and railway stations, through the corporation's health staff. He further added that the Corporation is effectively implementing the instructions of the Government of Tamil Nadu.
He said that diverting Tirupur bus stand route via temple and works to relocate markets have been intensified. He also noted that healthcare services have been triggered to involve a full range of measures to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 disease.
