Distributing pamphlets that reads clearly on the do's and dont's of COVID-19, the Panchayat President Vetrivel has also urged the residents of his village to tie neem leaves and sprinkle cow dung in front of all the houses.
"While the villagers totally understand the veracity of the issue, they believe in following our ancient ways of combatting diseases. Known for its unique medicinal properties, Neem has helped us cure and prevent several viral infections including chicken pox which again is caused by a virus", opines Vetrivel, the Panchayat President.
He believes that a combination of both scientific and traditional methods will help us during this unforeseen situation.
He informed that the people in their village are sensitised to maintain personal hygiene at all times and wash their hands regularly.
The Panchayat President further stated that due to their proximity to the Kerala forest, adequate precautions are being taken and they have urged the educational institutions and enterprises to be cautious of the issue.
"Outsiders who arrive to our village are subjected to testing. If they present any symptoms of cold, cough or fever, they will be guided to the primary health centre", he informed.
