Coimbatore: Citizens Voice Coimbatore in a letter to the PM, Central Finance Minister and State Finance Minister has sought financial help to be extended to suffering businesses during the COVID-19 closure.
The following are the requests made by them:
- Holidays/Moratoriums may be allowed in repayment of the loans availed by the business establishments and the employees working therein.
- Interest for this crucial period can be waived.
- Tax exemptions/concessions may be considered.
- Additional capital at subsidized rates can be provided to businesses to enable them to continue the business after this crucial period.
- Those who deal in perishable goods should be given special concessions in payment of Govt. dues, including Tax, EB payment, Bank dues etc.,
- As a goodwill gesture, the government may come forward to repay the Bank installments, All Taxes, EB payments etc for the current month and also for the period upto which the current situation continues.
They further added that in addition to the focus emphasised by the Government in personal hygiene of the individuals, the public hygiene should be given the higher priority and the garbage stagnated in public places should be removed on high priority basis in a war footing.
