The railway officials in Coimbatore have commenced screening of passengers arriving from other States, to prevent the spread of Coronavirus. The passengers were also educated about the use of hand sanitizers, wearing masks and other protective measures to be taken.
"Preventive measures are being undertaken to avoid the spread of COVID-19. For the next three days, passengers will be subjected to screening", informed Railway DSP Annadurai.

He added that any passenger showing symptoms of COVID-19 will be sent to Coimbatore GH for treatment. All facilities, including an ambulance has been stationed at the railway station, he noted.
