Coimbatore: The Coimbatore City Corporation on Tuesday held a meeting to review the ongoing Coronavirus preventive measures and contingency plans. The meeting was chaired by Corporation Commissioner, J. Sravan Kumar.

Deputy Corporation Commissioner C. Prasanna Ramaswamy and officials from the Corporation took part in the meeting.
Addressing all the Assistant Commissioner, Health Officers and all Divisional/Zonal Officers of the Corporation, the Corporation Commissioner stressed to commence preventive measures on warfooting.
"All commercial complexes, theatres, educational institutions and schools in Coimbatore Corporation have been advised to remain closed till March 31. Any violations, in this regard will be dealt seriously", he warned.
He informed that staffs have been involved in distribution of awareness pamphlets on prevention of Coronavirus. The public have been advised on the importance of washing hands, at regular intervals.
"If symptoms of cold, cough or fever persists, people should consult a doctor or the nearest Primary Health Centre", the Commissioner added.
He also warned that people should not self medicate without consulting a physician. The Commissioner ordered the Assistant Health Commissioners to ensure adequate stock of medicines.
The Commisioner noted that as per the directives of the State government, all Corporation Parks, Zoo, Gyms and Swimming Pools will remain closed till March 31.
