Alleging that the sudden restriction imposed by the City Police urging to close shops by 10 PM has gravely affected their business, the Street vendors on behalf of their welfare association have jointly petitioned to the District Collector to revoke the order.
In the petition submitted on Monday, they detailed the monetary losses suffered by them due to closing shops by 10 PM.
Owing to the series of assaults on Hindu and Muslim outfits in connection with the ongoing Citizenship Amendment Act, the City Police in a bid to ensure the law and order situation in the city, ordered to shut shops by 10 PM. The order has left both the vendors and the public in dismay.
