Coimbatore: Amid the coronavirus outbreak, the central government on Saturday declared COVID-19 as a national 'disaster'. Keeping in view of the safety of the people and the health department directives to avoid large gatherings, the Tamil Nadu Islamic Organisations and Political Parties Federation has requested to call off all 'Shaheen Bagh' kind of continuous protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act.

Keeping in view of the safety of the people and the health department directives to avoid large gatherings, the Tamil Nadu Islamic Organisations and Political Parties Federation has requested to call off all 'Shaheen Bagh' kind of continuous protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act.
In a press release, they noted that keeping in mind the spread of the novel Coronavirus in India, the Muslims are hereby requested to call-off their protests against CAA.
"If the Tamil Nadu government attempts to implement the NPR, the protests will be intensified and the federation will conduct a non-cooperation movement, with the support of all political parties, organisations and general public", the release said.
In a press release, they noted that keeping in mind the spread of the novel Coronavirus in India, the Muslims are hereby requested to call-off their protests against CAA.
"If the Tamil Nadu government attempts to implement the NPR, the protests will be intensified and the federation will conduct a non-cooperation movement, with the support of all political parties, organisations and general public", the release said.
