In the past, patients at this clinic were treated only for emergency treatment and sent to Pollachi or Coimbatore Government Medical Center for further treatment. Several casualties were reported during the 100km, 3-hour journey. There was no action taken even after repeatedly demanding the government to upgrade this clinic.

Few days back the government has hired senior doctors, including surgeons, paediatricians, to treat the patients. But there are no facilities, including a scan, x-ray and blood bank. However, last week, a team headed by chief physician Vinod performed surgery in several complications and successfully performed delivery for two pregnant women safely.

Appreciating this, Valparai legislator Kasthuri Vasu visited the clinic and gifted one gram gold ring to children born through these surgeries. The doctors and nurse requested the legislator to set up a safety fence around the clinic and set up scanning facilities and blood bank. The legislator assured to take the required action soon.
