Coimbatore: Two underprivileged persons who were begging with children at traffic signals were rescued and sent to the corporation home. Krishnaveni, the Assistant Inspector of the Coimbatore Trafficking Department, received a telephone call from the police control room when they were patrolling the Lawley road.

Two children, one and-half-year-old girl and 3-year-old boy along with Jegamohan (33), Radha (30), Dharmaraj 15, Ajitha 17 were begging at signal causing inconvenience to the motorists. They were later rescued and sent to RS Puram Home for the destitute and were provided food and shelter. Upon investigation it was understood that both of them hailed from Rajasthan.
