Coimbatore: The party cadres gave a warm welcome to the newly appointed state president for BJP, L Murugan who visited Coimbatore first time after he came to power. In an interview to reporters later, Murugan said that Anand and Suriya Prakash belonging to Hindu Organisations in Coimbatore have been severely beaten up by militants.

He added that the police had arrested only a few people in these incidents and did not arrest all those involved. He said all those belonging to extremist movements must be arrested for peace to prevail in the city. He said such attacks are continuing and the police should take stern action to prevent this.
He said the BJP MLA and MP who were already in Tamil Nadu were doing their best to develop the party. He said BJP was not caste oriented and was beyond religious disparities aimed to embrace all people.
