Coimbatore: On Friday, a circular was issued on behalf of the TN education department declaring holiday for Pre KG, LKG and UKG classes of all schools across the State, citing Coronavirus preventive measure.
Following which, all media houses had reported news which informed hoilday for schools from Pre KG to UKG from March 16 to 31, while those districts including Coimbatore and the Nilgiris which share close borders with Karanataka and Kerala where few cases of Coronavirus cases have been reported were advised to declare holiday for Pre KG to Class 5.
However, confusion prevails now as few media houses on Saturday have carried news of cancellation of the order leaving parents and schools raise their eyebrows, on the contradictory reports.
When contacted, a senior education department official has informed newsminute that new order will be issued by the CM soon and until that the order is kept in abeyance.
Assessing all these developments, schools are likely to remain closed and it will be confirmed by the government soon as all neighbouring states have already made their affected districts to shutdown.
