Speaking to the press, he said, "The Census should be implemented in the previous format and not in the new NPR format. If Minister Udayakumar had accepted to the demand, and agreed to not implement the census in the NPR format, the protest would've been called off much earlier. However, the Minister has said that, it is only being put on hold, temporarily. This is worrying. However, at the advisory meeting that will be held at the Secretariat, with the heads of the Islamic organisations, we will place our demands. If the government accepts it, we will call off the protests, with thanks to the government."
