Chennai: In a press release by Actor Rajinikanth, he clarified several speculations spreading about his recent meeting with the Rajini Makkal Mandram District Secretaries in Chennai.

In the press release, he clarified that he announced his entry into politics in December with an intention to change the political system in the state and not to become the CM of the state. He said he a three point plan that his party would work to achieve.

He said that his first goal was to minimise the number of party leaders as he believed they were a hindrance to proper functioning of the party as not only them, their family are also equally using the authority in disrupting the proper functioning of the govenrment. He hence suggested removal of unwanted party posting after the election to minimise interupption in the governing.

He said his second goal was to increase the number of youth candidates and party members. Pointing that the majority of the aseembly members were over 50, he wished to be the bridge to select the efficient youth who are honest, talented, hard-working and patriotic to send them to the assembly for an effcicient governing. He said 60-65% of seats in his party will be reserved for the youth, educated, honest and respectable personalities, the remaining 35-40% he said will be reserved for experienced retired judges, IAS, honest and respectable candidates. He said he would utilise his popularity gained through 45 years in cinema to back these eligible candidates and canvas the public to bring them to power.

His third goal is to have separate leader of party and CM candidate. He said, by having the same person as the party leader and CM, the wrongdoings of the person in power goes unquestioned and even in such cases, the person is sidelined with no action taken. He said he wished to bring this change in the political scenario and said that is what he wished to do in his party. he would select an able candidate and back him to be the CM while the party would point out flaws and would explain about the implications of decisions made.

He said, a special advisory team with industry experts will be formed to guide the givernment to take the right decisions that will be helpful for the public.

He said, he had clearly mentioned that he did not wish for any polical power way back in 1996 itself. But his party now is being established to bring a change in political system to ensure purely democratic rule and not for power and popularity.
