Coimbatore: More than 2000 Hindu Munnani cadres held a rally on Thursday condemning the recent attack on their party functionaries. A petition was submitted to the District Collector urging peace and harmony of the city and also legal action against those involved in the violence.

In the past week, a Hindu Munnani and RSS functionary were attacked by unidentified miscreants resulting in unrest.
Condemning the violence unleashed on their party members and alleging that Police failed to prevent such repeated acts of violence, more than 2000 members of various Hindu outfits led by the Hindu Munnani, took out a rally.
They marched from Anna statue on Avinashi road to the District Collectorate.
Many executive party members including the Hindu Munnani's State President Kadeshwara Subramaniam, BJP Senior leader C.P. Radhakrishnan, BJP's District President Nandakumar and Hindu Munnani District President Dasarathan took part in the rally.
Speaking to the press after the rally, Hindu Munnani District President Kadeshwara Subramaniam said, "Some anti-social elements are trying to instigate violence in Coimbatore. The police should put an end to such incidents, before they intensify. Peace and harmony of the city must be the priority."
More than 500 policemen were deployed for security.
Later, a petition was submitted to the District Collector at the end of the rally.
