Coimbatore: The State Transport Corporation unions have commenced a sit-in protest urging various demands including immediate talks on 14th Finance Commission, 25% wage increase, reduced workload, resolving pensioner's issues and more in front of Transport Corporation offices across Tamil Nadu.
Coimbatore: The State Transport Corporation unions have commenced a sit-in protest urging various demands including immediate talks on 14th Finance Commission, 25% wage increase, reduced workload, resolving pensioner's issues and more in front of Transport Corporation offices across Tamil Nadu.
More than 500 people are engaged in a protest in front of the TNSTC workshop in the Coimbatore - Mettupalayam road. They said the government did not take any constructive measures even after giving in writing, promising that a solution will be done soon after the 2017 leadership-led negotiations.
They said that the loss in the Transport corporation has led to the stopping of several bus services and has also stopped them from hiring new employees that have increased their workload.
They urged the government and the administration to come to terms with the unions' demands and address the unions immediately.
