Coimbatore: A 36-year-old man who returned from Malaysia, via Trichy and reached Coimbatore has been quarantined at ESI hospital here. The man has reportedly presented symptoms of Coronavirus.
Coimbatore: A 36-year-old man who returned from Malaysia, via Trichy and reached Coimbatore has been quarantined at ESI hospital here. The man has reportedly presented symptoms of Coronavirus.
According to reports, the man who hails from Kerala had visited Gem Hospital at Ramanathapuram for some ailment. During treatment, the doctors came to know that he had travelled from Malaysia and also presented symptoms of cold and fever.
The hospital authorities immediately alerted the health department officials and the man was shifted to Coimbatore government hospital, on Sunday night.
Presently, the man has been shifted to an isolation ward from Coimbatore government hospital to ESI Hospital. The patient's blood and mucous samples have been sent to King's laboratory in Chennai.
The hotel room that the patient stayed, people at the hotel and the two nurses who offered him treatment have all been brought under the Health department's scanner.
The health officials at Coimbatore GH informed that the patient is currently stable and further treatment plans will be initiated only after his results.
Another patient, who arrived at Coimbatore, from Sharjah has been quarantined at his home, and is under the observation of the Health Department.
Following precautionary measures at all airports, passengers are screened for Coronavirus attack.
Corona virus has now spread to 97 countries and more than 3,500 people have died due to the disease. More than one lakh people are undergoing treatment for the virus attack. In India, 41 people have been tested positive for the virus.
