To commemorate the International Women's day on March 8, the Salem Division, Southern railway has announced a campaign themed #eachforequal in which an all women crew will be operating trains starting from March 1-10
In a bid to highlight the inspiring stories of women achievers and in commemoration of International Women’s Day Celebrations, the Salem division, Southern Railway operates Train No. 22666 Coimbatore – KSR Bengaluru UDAY Express on March 8 with an all women crew of Salem Division.
All operators including Loco Pilot, Guard, Ticket examiners will be handled by Women staff of the railways.
The women crew consisting of H Nimmy locopilot, BJ Sindhu, assistant locopilot, S Mareena, guard, Ticket checking staffs -- Mythili, PR Savithiri, Dhanya, Helen Mary and R. Nandhini.
A Annadurai, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Salem, E. Harikrishnan Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Salem and Dr. Uma Maheswari, Senior Divisional Finance Manager, Salem welcomed the women crew at Salem and distributed sweets and honoured the crew.
The all women crew of Uday Express were warmly welcomed and commended by the passengers.
