Coimbatore: Hindu Makkal Katchi leader, Arjun Sampath submitted a petition to the District Collector on Saturday demanding action against those who assaulted a chennai-based television channel reporter in Pullianthoppu in Chennai.
Arjun Sampath in his petition stated that Win television owner, who is the national chairman of Yadav Mahasabha has been speaking at public meetings in support if Citizenship Amendment Act. His television has also telecasted all pro-CAA protests, in the recent time.
"In this scenario, miscreants have attacked his television reporter and issued death threats. The Police have to probe the issue and arrest those involved in the act", he added.
Later, Arjun Sampath also lodged a complaint with the District Collector and Police Commissioner demanding immediate action against the culprits involved in both the incidents and also asked for protection for the owner of the TV channel.
