Tirupur: The special team formed under the supervision of Tirupur Superintendent of Police, Disha Mittal have nabbed the culprit involved in the daring heist in a State Bank of India (SBI) branch in Kallipalayam near Palladam Tirupur, last month.
Tirupur: The special team formed under the supervision of Tirupur Superintendent of Police, Disha Mittal have nabbed the culprit involved in the daring heist in a State Bank of India (SBI) branch in Kallipalayam near Palladam Tirupur, last month.
The accused has been identified as Anil Kumar(42) from Ludhiana and was arrested in New Delhi airport. The accused was intercepted by the Delhi Police at the airport and found to have involved in SBI burglary in Tirupur. The Delhi police then alerted the Tirupur police who rushed to Delhi and nabbed the culprit.

Upon investigation, it is revealed that Anil Kumar has been involved in previous bank robbery. He was today, presented at Palladam Court and was granted police custody for six days. While the police requested for 10 days police custody, the Court granted 6 days.
The robbery incident shook the State, as the accused had gained entry by bending a window at the SBI branch and robbed 800 to 1,000 sovereigns of gold and 18 lakh in cash. And shockingly, the SBI branch had no security guards.
