Coimbatore: Addressed to the Superintendent of Police, Coimbatore District, the State Human Rights Commission has sought explanation for the incident where a woman constable of All Women's Perur Police Station brutally attacked a complainant.
Coimbatore: Addressed to the Superintendent of Police, Coimbatore District, the State Human Rights Commission has sought explanation for the incident where a woman constable of All Women's Perur Police Station brutally attacked a complainant.

A circular from the State Human Rights Commission stated that a suo-motu cognizance has been taken based on the news item appeared in a newspaper about the incident.

Hence, the commission has called for a detailed report from the Superintendent of Police, Coimbatore District, within 2 weeks.

"In the event of any default, the Commission may proceed to take such action as it deems fit and proper", the Circular noted.
It may be recalled that SP Sujit Kumar passed orders to transfer Krishnaveni, the erring head constable from Perur to Thondamathur station.
