Coimbatore: State Leader of Hindu Munnani, Kadeshwara Subramanian has alleged that Islamic outfits have announced shop closure protest on the same day, Hindu Munnani has announced.
"Earlier, the Islamic outfits announced of holding a shop closure protest today, Friday. Later, they informed of cancelling the protest for a later period. However, after Hindu Munnani announced the protest date as March 7, the Islamic outfits have now announced of holding the protest on Saturday", alleged the Hindu Munnani leader.
He further accused that with an intent to create chaos and disrupt the peace in the city, the Islamic outfits have announced the protest, tomorrow in line with the protest by Hindu Munnani.
He urged that the police should provide adequate security for the public on March 7, Saturday. He also appealed to the people to co-operate with the shop closure protest on March 7 organised by Hindu Munnani.
Meanwhile, Sumit Sharan, City Police Commissioner has warned both the Hindu Munnani and Islamic outfits that they should not indulge in forcing or threatening shop keepers to close their shops. And, 1500 police personnel have been deployed for security.
