Addressing a review meeting to discuss on the ongoing prepatory works for the upcoming summer festival in the Nilgiris, District Collector J Innocent Divya and other senior officials from horticulture and district administration took part and discussed on various aspects to make the event a grand success.
Addressing the Press after the meet, Subbaiah, Director of Horticulture department apprised on the upcoming events for the summer festival in the Nilgiris district.
"The 124th to be held in the Ooty Botanical garden between May 15-19 for five days is expected to attract over a lakh visitors, across the World. The 17th edition of rose show will be held at Ooty Rose Gardens, which is celebrating its silver jubilee year."
He also informed that the two-day vegetable show will be held at Kothagiri on May 2-3, and three-day fruits show will be held at Sims Park in Coonoor from May 29.
Meanwhile, the 62nd Fruit exhibition will take place in Coonoor on May 29-31. And the three-day spice show will begin from May 22 -24 at Gudalur, he told.
