Anandh (33), District Incharge of Hindu Munnani was brutally attacked by unidentified men while he traveling in his two wheeler near Nanjundapuram underpass.
Following the attack, the Hindu Munnani has announced a shop closure protest on March 7. While the Islamic organisations announced a protest on March 6 and later withdrew it.
Around 1,500 police personnel have been deployed to the city to prevent communal violence. The City Police has warned that both Hindu and Muslim Outfits should not force the shopkeepers to close their shops on March 7.
The police have advised both parties to not force anyone into shutting down shops during the bandh.
